Clean It. Green It. Mean It.

Clean It. Green It. Mean It. In celebration of the 38th Anniversary of Earth Day, on Saturday, April 19 from 9 a.m. to noon, as many as 4,000 community volunteers will span Oakland to clean and green their neighborhoods at 100 project locations, according to a City of Oakland news release. The momentum of Oakland Earth Day grows each year as the City continues to address new challenges and build new tools that help communities of all sizes become sustainable.

You’ve heard about it before, and now’s your chance to take part and show just how much you care about this wonderful City of ours! Citizens of Oakland, along with our families, friends and neighbors have the opportunity to come together to celebrate Oakland’s 38th Annual Earth Day. Earth Day activities encompass community cleanups, creek restoration, neighborhood improvement and beautification activities. Some are sponsored by local businesses and community groups, others are simply a few families working alongside one another for a morning. Your choice! You make the difference!

For a complete list of project sites and more information about Earth Day 2008 call (510) 238-7611 or visit www.oaklandearthday.com.
