Escape from Alameda

Crime in Oakland continues. A 21-year-old robbery suspect was shot and killed by Oakland Police last night at East Seventh Street and 29th Avenue, the Oakland Tribune reported today. The action came after a dramatic chase that started after the man, who has warrants in El Cerrito for home invasion and carjacking, robbed an Enterprise rental car franchise in Alameda. The man took the clerk's cell phone and keys to a rental car and fled to Oakland. Police gunned the man down after he crashed the stolen car and fled on foot and eventually broke into a residence and attempted to take another car.
