Weekend Events

Check out these great events in Oakland this weekend:

• The Oakland Zoo unveils a new exhibit this Saturday, an authentic replica of an East African hut. 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Feb. 16, $9.50 adults, $6 seniors and children, 9777 Golf Links Road, (510) 632-9525.

• Enjoy a local heroes awards program and Lunar New Year's Celebration this Saturday. 10 a.m.–Noon, Feb. 16, free, Laurel Elementary School, 3750 Brown Ave.

• New exhibit at Rowan Morrison Gallery, Christopher Russell's "Part of Everything." Opening reception this Saturday, 6 p.m.–10 p.m. Feb. 16, exhibit runs through March 9. 330 40th St., (510) 384-5344.
