Bike to Work/Spare the Air

• Choose a healthy commute during Oakland’s 15th annual
bike to work day May 15, part of Bay Area bike to work day. Bicycling to work combines transportation and recreation that is both convenient and sustainable. • The
Bay Area Air Quality Management District announced yesterday that today is a
Spare the Air day and that concentrations of ground-level ozone pollution are forecast to be unhealthy. The district says that clear skies, hot temperatures and light winds are to blame. The public is encouraged to work at home, take public transit (which is not free), carpool or ... ride a bike (see above).
• The Berkeley-based
Impact Fund: Strategic Litigation for Social Justice is celebrating 15 years with a gala event tonight in San Francisco.
