Pocket Park Dedication

The City of Oakland dedicates a new pocket park on the Waterfront Trail this morning, the city of Oakland announced. The park, in a little-known corner of the Oakland Estuary, will open to walkers, bikers and nature lovers at 10:30 a.m. Councilmembers Larry Reid and Jane Brunner will attend the opening. The park is located at Oakport Street at Zhone Way and is part of the proposed 500-mile long San Francisco Bay Trail. Funds for the project came from the Oakland Trust for lean Water and Safe Parks, Measure DD, a $198 million bond measure.
