Oakland, Calif. (May 7, 2008) – Grand Avenue merchants have donated prizes for families at the Grand Avenue Business Association’s (GABA) Third Annual Proud Parents’ Grand Stroll on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Marching jazz band Blue Bone Express will provide entertainment during the stroll
Families large and small, traditional and nontraditional are invited to show their pride by participating. Last year nearly every family won a prize. Stepping off at 10:00 a.m., the procession will amble down Oakland’ Grand Avenue from the Grand Lake Theater to Safeway and back. Participants are encouraged to come in festive attire or costume and decorate their strollers, baby slings, wagons or other conveyance to amplify the jubilant atmosphere.
