250th Birthday of the US Navy @ the USS Hornet

Please join us aboard the USS Hornet as we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States Navy on the weekend of October 10th-13th.

All active duty and veteran military personnel will be allowed on for free the entire weekend.
We will have many exciting activities for our guests to enjoy on this weekend:

We will be opening up the cockpits of the SeaKing Helicopter and the S-2 Tracker for guests to explore the inside of.
We will also open the rear door of the Avenger for guests to look inside to see what the set up was like for the rear two crewmen.
We will also going to open the Mobile Quarantine Facility to guests-normally only opened during Apollo anniversary events. Did you know the Apollo 12 crew was all Navy?
The Hornet Legacy exhibit will be reopening in time for this event. The Hornet Legacy exhibit tells the story of all 8 ships named Hornet from the Revolutionary War to the USS Hornet CV-12 you are standing in!
We will have a speaker from the Navy to give a presentation about some part of the Navy’s 250 year history every day
Watch for a glimpse of the Blue Angels from the Flight Deck on Friday the 10th, Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th
Also, on October 10th, we are having a Fleet Week themed Overnight! Spend the night on a retired Navy Warship and live like a sailor. More information HERE!!!
