Book Launch Celebration

August 20 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Berkeley Humane will be wagging tails and turning pages on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the official book launch for the middle-grade adventure story, A Dog Named 647, written by East Bay award-winning author and veterinarian, Dr. Nancy Kay.

D. Nancy brings her experience and compassion to this engaging tale about courage, friendship, and the strength of the human-animal bond. The book will inspire empathy in young readers while keeping them eagerly turning the page.

“I’m passionate about exposing kids to animal welfare issues, in this case puppy mills,” said Dr. Kay. “What better way to do it than through an exciting adventure story!”

In a heartwarming gesture, Dr. Kay will donate all proceeds from book sales back to Berkeley Humane, supporting its mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home animals in need.
