The Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce was established in 2003. We are a private non-profit whose mission is to advance economic opportunity and strengthen Oakland’s Black business community. We provide a number of services for our business associates and members including access to  capital workshops, business development opportunities and advocacy. We are committed to helping promote, sustain and grow our member businesses. Shonda Scott (r) is the first chairwoman of the Oakland African American Chamber of Commerce, and Cathy D.
